I Can't Believe It...

but I think I'm getting sick. Again. Last Friday I totally thought I was beginning to get sick and was worried I'd be sick over the weekend in SF. But I managed to fight it off. And now I'm here again, with a sore throat and a stuffy face - feeling sick AGAIN. Grrrrr.

In other news, I've scheduled my first personal training session - 8 a.m. on Monday morning. That's right - New Year's Eve. I bid and won 5 one hour training sessions and 3 one hour pilates sessions from a trainer who is donating his time. It's all for the Bill Foundation, the rescue group where I got Pig. Anyway, I won the auction at a bid of $175 - for 8 one hour sessions! I'm so lucky - that is SUCH a deal. The gym is really close by too, which is awesome. And I'm happy the money is going to good causes - rescuing dogs and reducing my muffin top (hopefully - did I mention I've been sitting in my cubicle with my pants unbuttoned - yet ANOTHER reason I suspect I'll be fired from this job in 3 mos!)

I have also scheduled a teeth cleaning on New Year's Eve at 11 a.m. My dentist is pretty far away from my work (like nearly over 2 hrs in traffic), so I guess I'll be getting my teeth cleaned on Saturdays and holidays from now on. I don't really mind tho - I feel like I am getting a great start on 2008!!

Tolerable Rodent

As much as I despise rodents, somehow I feel a kinship with this one:

Did I mention I've gained about 5 lbs in the last two weeks from the all the office holiday goodies (where do they come from???? who keeps bringing in brownies and cookies and donuts???? why must people send lovely lovely chocolatey gift baskets and other bad-for-you things over the holidays??? do they not know that i can't fit into ANY of my pants????)

Hello!

Poor neglected bloggie. Not that anyone really cares, but one of my resolutions this year (yes, those infamous resolutions that I never seem to quite keep...) will be to blog EVERY DAY. Even if it's nothing of particular importance, which, of course, it never is.

Anyway, have been very busy with my new job. Don't want to talk about it much - most days I think I'm going to get fired, but I'm hoping that's just sort of standard with a new job?

Max is back in MI for the holidays, so it's been very quiet around here. With Max gone, I've totally reverted back to my old lady lazy self - eating meals that either take less than 5 minutes to heat in the microwave, or require only only one pan/bowl, watching reruns of Golden Girls and Frasier and I Love Lucy ad nauseam, turning on the heater to 78 degrees, and going to bed by 10 p.m. It's a bit lonely, but we're slowly getting used to it. Luckily Kate, my friend Jenn, and Jenn's boyfriend Bill have all been super great about coming over to walk Pig during the day when I'm at work. I have no doubt Pig prefers to stay at home, watch Lifetime, and have someone walk her midday, than being sent to doggie day care.

Went up to SF this weekend to visit the Chinese Costanzas and my aunts for Christmas. It was a nice and relaxing trip - nothing much of interest happened. I did introduce my grandparents to Jessie's Special Guacamole Mix (two avocados mixed with the greatest powdered packet ever) - they loved it. My grandpa suggested that we spread it on toast or on soda crackers. Haha.

Oh - and Pig ate a giant log of dog shit. It was sooo gross!!!! I've never seen her do it - and this thing was enormous - like the size of a bratwurst. It was horrible b/c I couldn't really stop her - I grabbed her mouth with one hand, but couldn't bring myself to pull it out with the other. Aunt Marilyn took a stick and tried to pry it out of her mouth, which only succeeded in smearing it over half of her face. We spent about five minutes gagging on the side of the road after it all happened. I did ,of course, wash Pig's face and mouth and gave her lots of water and treats, but it tooks several days before I could really get over it. Ick.

Anyway, happy holidays everyone!

I Will Survive

I made it through my first day (Friday) at my new job! So far, so good. I have a lovely gray cubicle - I've already started pinning things up on the wall. My favorite part so far is the nice espresso machine in the office! Whooo hoooo - lattes every morning for Sareet! (I am soo easy to please, no?)

As with all new jobs, it's a bit stressful and overwhelming. I can't wait to get to the point where I just KNOW things, and don't have to ask a bunch of questions. Since I've only worked one day so far, I think that's a ways away.

I like my coworkers so far - everyone seems so nice and helpful. Hopefully it stays that way.

I thought the drive would be really bad, but it didn't take more than 45 mins one way on a rainy Friday in LA, which is really good.

I do miss Pig tho. New office is not petfriendly, unfortunately. :( Plan on plastering cubical walls with pics of Pig, naturally.

Anyway, off to bed. Have to get up at ungodly hour from now on...that is definitely going to take some getting used to!
