Poll Time

I'd like to take an informal poll. Please please humor me if you can/are bored and settle this debate for Max and me.

Is it gross to wash Pig's towels (the ones that she cuddles with in her bed, and the ones that I dry her with after her bath) in the same load as the rest of the laundry (underwear, clothes, people bath towels)?

Oh, grody. I am absolutely in favor of washing that load far, far away from your clothes.

THANK YOU!!! That's exactly how I feel about it. In fact, it's always the last load I do, so that there aren't lingering Pig germs inside the washer and dryer.

Don't think I explained myself well. I always do the Pig load last, so that the next person (not me) gets the lingering Pig germs.

If I had a pet, I'd definitely wash pet stuff separately from people stuff.

Whatever you do, don't think that the person before you could've just washed her or his pet stuff.

Oh god. Thanks, Lypstykgirl. Plus I live in a really really pet friendly building so I'm sure I've gotten their pet germs on my stuff before.

My family is really paranoid about laundry. My mom actually bought a portable washer that hooked up to her kitchen sink so that she wouldn't have to use the apartment washers. And my sister wipes the inside of the washer with one of those Chlorox wipes at her dorm. She says that she usually wipes up really really nasty gunky stuff. I've resisted the urge, but the more I think about it, the more I feel like I should be wiping the inside of the washer before I do laundry.

Hmmm. Ok. Despite how much I love you....I think you're being a little over-zealous. I mean I hate to point this out, but your entire house is already covered with Pig germs. Seriously. And all the germs she brings in with her on her cute little paws when you take her for a walk.....and when she goes outside and eats someone's puke and then licks her lips and then lays her cute little head on the side of your couch, and then you sit there, and then you use your hands to brush lint off your pants and then you use those hands to pick up the english muffin you are eating for breakfast.....not to mention you are using soap in the washer, and soap should kill some of the germs at least........

I can understand where you are coming from, but in my humble opinion, I think you worry too much. People have been washing their clothes and their pet's stuff in washing machines for years and years, and have you ever heard of someone getting sick and dying because they washed their clothes in the same machine as a dog did or something? If Max were to throw a 'Pig blanket' in with the towels, it wouldn't be a big deal. Wait til you have babies, and you are throwing the clothes they barf on and poop on into the washing machines with your towels and stuff.....hey I thought of something else too--isn't it also gross if you wash your dish towels with the towels you use on your body? Because then you are washing your body, and then you wash your dishcloth in the same water as the body washcloth.....eeewwwww.

Hmm, I probably have not made you feel better, have I?

Elliot - you make some good points but do you want to hear something funny? I actually HATE washing kitchen towels with underwear/bath towels. I was actually going to post a follow-up poll question on whether or not that's gross to everyone else!

I am neither a neat freak nor germaphobe, but I read about what your sister does and thought, "Hmm, not a bad idea."

You probably don't have to worry too much as yes, Pig germs are everywhere.

Yeah, towels for pet-cleaning, car-washing, or house-cleaning must be separated.
