I happened to hear about it on the radio minutes after a statement was issued from their spokesperson. The tsunami doesn't hold a candle to this tragedy!
Actually, they're separated but remain "committed friends" or something lame like that.
You know, I know this is totally lame and I really should care less what happens to people I barely know...but I really do feel sorry for them. Maybe it's just because I recently got married, but, I feel sorry for them. Especially to have their pain plastered all over the news. I feel sorry for them that it happened, and I feel sorry for them that I, a random person, know about it.
NOT that I don't feel sorry for the tsunami folks--that's obviously WAY worse...but I feel like I'm entitled to know about the tsunami, it was a natural disaster. I am not entitled to know about Brad and Jen breaking up....
I don't know. I have trouble feeling bad for gaZILLionaires that everybody loves. When their hearts are broken they can just buy a villa in France or roll around naked in their gobs and gobs of money. The rest of us can just eat Ben and Jerry's and wait for the phone to ring. I don't think a little media speculation is going to kill them...
It's true that our culture is way too obsessed with celebrity; it seems unparalled in American society and reaching a fever pitch. Like we really know these people? We spend enough time gossping about our friends, much less perfect strangers.
That said, I do know Angelina Jolie. Well, not really...um, I never met her or spoke to her. Don't know any of her friends...but I don't think she'd mess around with a married man! OK, I have no idea what I'm talking about (although I heard a story from the Tomb Raider set when I was at Paramount that would lead me to believe she wouldn't).
Yes, it would suck for everyone in the world to know your business and you couldn't walk out of house looking sloppy. Yes, celebrity-obsession is out of hand. But they're rich, gorgeous, and work in the coal mines. Oops, no wait - they get to be actors too. Small price to pay.
I'm still thinking about those beautiful babies that they aren't going to have. so sad...they were going to be the most beautiful family in america.....
Maybe they would have had ugly babies - maybe the clashing of too many similar "beauty" genes would actually produce blind banjo-playing albinos. Cuz let's face it - they look quite a bit a like.
I'm with you on the clashing genes theory. It's best with one ugly parent and a pretty one. That's why the musician mating with a model or general hottie usually results in good-looking kids e.g. Liv Tyler, Jade Jagger, Lourdes Ritchie.

I just wanna know if it's really cuz of Angelina!!
I hear what you're saying Elliot and do feel a little bit bad for them - my complaint though is mainly against the media frenzy over it...
