When I was in school, we were assigned to talk to our great grandparents about the depression (or grandparents, depending on how young your family was). The school lent out video equipment so we could take it, and I have this tape of me interviewing my great grandparents about the depression.
My parents commented on how someday, we would appreciate this tape of my grandparents, and it's something my children would probably like because those are people they might never get to meet, or, people that they won't meet for long enough to know well.
Your tendency to record Pig just seems to relate here.
