Please Excuse My Boredom

Out of curiousity, if you're in the bathroom and someone knocks on the door, what do you say? Because I always say "Someone's in here!!!" which is kind of funny. "Somone" as in "me." I've also heard "Just a sec!" which seems better than "Someone's in here!!!"

Anyway, ignore the question if you want. But please post your answer if you're as bored as me.

i usually try to get something like that said, and usually mix them all together in a nervous bout of making sure the lock is pushed in. it usually goes, "hold- someone's... wait a minute!" Hopefully by then the lock has deterred them and they've just walked away.

I go "NOPE!"

I have no idea why.

I usually say "I'll be out in a second!".

Incidentally, how much does it suck when the door lock and the long line of people waiting for a bathroom does NOT deter someone from knocking? At a Starbucks in NYC one afternoon, I waited in a line about 5 people long to pee, and the line kept getting longer behind me. By the time I got into the bathroom, about 6 people were in line behind me. Before I even got to the pulling down shorts stage, someone KNOCKS. WTF? They didn't see the line of people waiting to use the bathroom? I was literally in there maybe seconds. How weird.

Also WTF and how weird--can you see my blog? I ask, because I can't. All I can see is a blank white screen. What did I do?

I say "it's occupied" most of the time. In rare instances I do the "just a sec" line too.

BTW, if you don't mind, can you give me the info on the massage place you went to in West LA? I think it may be what Jojo needs for his birthday. (Sorry about asking you on your comments page).

I love that you guys have responded - such a variety in answers. My favorite is Plumb's. The "NOPE" seems a bit like a "PSYCH!!!" or "DEE-NIED!!!"

The "someone's in here" and the "it's occupied" reminds me of the joke about the chickens in the hen house. The "it's just us chickens." Because really, you could say anything - "Cheese Souffle!!!" "Mr. Potato Head!!!" and the mere fact that the door is locked and there's a voice coming through the door indicates there is indeed someone in there and that the bathroom is occupied.

Maybe from now on, I'll just yell something - "Kelly Clarkson!!!" (did you know you can get Steve Carrell saying that as a ring tone on your cell phone?)

Joanne - the place I went to is called The Massage Company. It is very "no frills." I think it's a good deal, but it's all just about the massage. The one I went to was not particularly pretty looking but it was very clean. And I would suggest going early because you have to fill out some forms and they start the clock the second your appointment starts - say 5:00 p.m., and are done by 6:00 p.m. (for a one hour massage, let's say). And if you don't go early and take the time to fill out forms, they'll still stop at 6 and you end up with a shorter massage. But the deal is amazing - $39 for a one hour massage - and I'd definitely go back again.

And elliot - I don't know what happened but I can't see your blog either. Go to blogger.com, log in, and see if you can republish the entire blog. That's the only thing I can think of to do.

Thanks! I've booked Jojo for a surprise birthday massage (and one for me too)! I'm excited since I love massages. Hopefully he'll like it too. I'll let you know how it goes :)
